§ FROM JANUARY 1, 2020, IT IS PROHIBITED TO USE FOSSIL FUEL OIL AND PARAFFIN FOR HEATING HOMES!
You've probably already heard of it , because it's not exactly new. It was actually announced on June 15, 2017. But time flies and now it's January 1, 2020. So it's urgent, you could say. The purpose is of course to reduce the pressure on the environment, which we know is very hard pressed.
What does the law mean in practice?
It means that if you currently use fossil energy to heat rooms, ventilation air and/or tap water, you must find other alternatives by January 1, 2020.
There are a number of alternatives such as geothermal heating, heat pumps or a water-based heating system that can be adapted to the energy supply of the future. The support schemes that existed in 2017 and 2018 have been halved in 2019, but it is still possible to receive support when you get rid of oil heating.
The housing situation today
Many houses and apartments that are relatively new have very good insulation. The old houses with natural drafts in cracks and walls are no longer built. This also means that the heating needs have changed. As a rule—there are of course exceptions, the internet offers many exciting articles about architects and contractors who develop completely different concepts than what is common.
What should I choose?
What solution should you choose to heat your house? There are many factors to consider and it is impossible to give a comprehensive answer in this article. We can agree that although a heat pump or a geothermal heating system is a good choice, it does not meet the aesthetic needs. We Nordics love to cozy up, and in Norway that means we like to sit in front of the fireplace on cold days, even if we were born with skis on our feet.
THE OPPORTUNITIES
Bioflame has focused on environmentally friendly alternatives to meet the need for warmth and well-being. If you live in a well-insulated house and do not need a fireplace as a heat source, you can consider Mystic Steamfire . It provides a very realistic flame effect, without providing heat.
If you want a flame effect and good heat, one will Biofireplace that runs on bioethanol can be a good choice. They can be built in and come in many varieties. They are safe and can be controlled using, for example, a mobile or tablet. The fireplace is chimneyless and is clean-burning.
If you have a chimney and want to use the fireplace mainly for heating, Planika gas fireplaces are a great alternative. You can use different types of gas, LPG, Biopropane gas or Natural gas.

"Environmental awareness"
A long word to describe something as simple as caring about the earth and everyone who lives here. When that mindset guides our actions, such as using less plastic, walking and cycling more often, wasting less energy, and choosing environmentally friendly heating solutions, we are all doing our part!
